1920’s Room - The ParlourIn the early 1920’s construction soured as many returned home from the war. The demand of many young North Americans for urban housing lead to the construction of affordable inner city flats. These buildings, known as post war apartments, were fashioned with a revived French theme. Interiors of these flats received architectural style from the mid-16th century. Raised paneling and decorative ornamentation turned box shaped rooms into elegant detailed parlours and boudoirs. The 1920’s room honours that period of interior décor. French in style, rose in color with white accents, this room has a sunny southern exposure. |
